A couple of dissapointing losses…

September 4th, 2006

I’ve been finding that my main weakness as a player is that I do not take enough risk. Today I completely mucked a RDG league match by not attacking with my superior ground forces while he slowly brought my life total down to zero with his flyers. I almost wanted to pound myself in the face for not realizing that my ground forces could of pressured him and forced him to hang back with his birds and such. The hardest turn was turn 6 when I thought about sending in some troops either via Mortipede’s ability or without to force some trades and I didn’t do anything. I think it was that moment when the game slipped away from my grip. The gas in my hand was offensive and I didn’t see any combat tricks during the previous match so there was no reason to let up.

I did rally and beat face for 2 matches after that so at least I learned something. Now what troubles me is that one game I was able to Demonfire for 6 yet I only realized I had enough mana until the burn actually hit my opponents face.

So much to learn…
