M10 and Me

July 7th, 2009

Not too excited about M10.  Seems underwhelming and another core set I probably won’t buy too many cards from.  I enjoy more esoteric cards and “flavor” than the standard fantasy flavor available in M10.

I like the soldier “sliverish” cards though.  Maybe my 30 copies of Benalish Commander won’t go to waste. ;)

Explanation:

Before I took a break from MTGO I bought tons of Faerie, Soldier, and Merfolk rares in anticipation of the prices getting a boost from the tribal theme in Lorwyn block.  I think I bought around 60 Lord of Atlantis for .25 tix a piece and sold at 2-3.  Worse part of that deal was that I now have 60 Benalish Commanders and Sprite Noble rares sitting around in my collection collecting dust.

I agree that M10 wasn’t the best most exciting core set I have ever seen, but it wasn’t the worst either. I think they made a couple of cards a little more accessible for the average player like Lightning bolt as a common and Savannah Lions, I mean Elite Vanguard as an uncommon. All in all it wasn’t bad.

  3. www.Buymorecards.net Says:

Agreed. M10 wasn’t as bad as say…5th or 6th Edition. Not bad, considering you’d have to go back what – 8 years. Ok, 7th wasn’t that great either. But who’s counting.

I actually just started a blog about mtg for the fact that i need help with my faerie deck!! but that’s cool that you have all of those, I wish I would have started playing back when lorwyn came out, I love that block.
