Most magic players who post and comment around the interwebs are extremely opinionated and vocal. They argue tit for tat over card value, mechanics, and critique every single move that Wizards makes. I try and steer clear away from such conversations. I hope that these players are actually a minority and just the ones with enough free time to write post after post of why their opinions are awesome and how the rest of the world, especially Wizards R&D are stupid imbeciles.
R&D farts and a megaton explosion of thread wars and post wildfires erupt all over the Magisphere. The most recent spoilers from Future Sight will undoubtedly cause a devastating conflict. Forum accounts will be obliterated and post counts will skyrocket. Collections will be liquidated on ebay. The streets of the City of Brass will run red with the blood of the fallen.
Over what? A redesigned cardface…
I have nothing to add to the discussion. The game is still Magic, and I will still throw burn at your face, smash in with fatties, and counter your spell. As if to “foreshadow”, as a MTGsal poster said, OR to say “the game is still Magic no matter how we present it”, a weird article from What If? week translated Magic mechanics into a space format.
Real magic fans are here to stay, for better or worse, through cardface to new cardface, until 20 points of damage do we part.
