I agree. The last thing I want to see when I'm trying to read a blog is tons of ads. Ads are everywhere. I actually know people that are leaving Facebook because of the putrid amount of ads. And it gets even worse when you're seeing ads that have nothing to do with the subject matter of the ad. I was on a site the other day about heavy metal videos, and right at the top was this monstrous ad for the Freemasons... I understand people need to make money, and ads are the number one way to monetize, but it seems to be at the risk of alienating the users who make the money even possible.

Hey!
I appreciate the kind words about GatheringMagic.com.
I am the admin over there and love to hear opinions on my design so I appreciate it!

As far as ads.. I think I have about the right amount going. One on the sidebar, one after each post.. nothing too crazy.
Im only trying to pay for the server. And dont be too hard on CopySix.. hes been the spoiler king for some time now :) You do need to grab your own domain though Copy :)

Thanks again!
Let me know if you have any other advice.

PS: Our author "titles" are lofty in jest :)

Greetings,

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind reviewing my card search engine site for your readers. It was designed to be a powerful way to quickly locate cards that may go well in whatever deck you may be working on. It is also intended to be easily addable to any magic related site (your blog for example) and should allow for your visitors to search for cards from within your blog. The search engine is at the url that I specified when posting, and the details about adding the search engine to your site can be found at that domain plus Webmasters.html

If you can think of a way that I can make it better, please let me know. (There is a contact form on the site, or you can reach me at the email address that I specified when posting this comment.)

Thanks,
Brett

I'm not certain if my post went through or not, if this one appears under the comments once I post it, I'll repost the original. If it went through fine, I apologize for the additional post.

Hey there Mr. Jitte.
I concur.
I run the MTG Realm blog and must admit that I don't really care for the extra advertisement crowding on the pages - hopefully come the new year (I have agreements in place), I will clean it up a bit more.
In my defense however, the ads to pay enough to allow me and my family to pick up a few cards and play casually - without the extra bit of revenue from the click-throughs, I would be stretched to find the disposable income required to play Magic.
