Thier, Thear, everythings going to be ok…

March 27th, 2007

Not really…

For the second time now I’ve corrected a PRE event listing. Why do I do this? Why can’t I just leave them alone?

The fact is that when one event looks like its written by a 6 year old it makes all of them look bad. I’m very keen on promoting the perception the PREs are a legitimate, organized and fun way to play MTGO. I myself always am very wary to waste my limited time to play in an event who’s hoster can’t even be bothered to spell check his event listing.

It gets worse:

Instead of correcting the event text to “Their” he has instead corrected it to “Thier” in each of the events on the main page. Go ahead and browse it yourself. Not only are these TRIVIAL and BASIC fundamentals of the english language thrown out the window but other misspellings contribute to the utter idiotic presentation of Hellz Angellz as a clan and event host. 7 out of 7 Hellz Angellz events on the PRE forum are full of stupid errors. THEIR events make the whole of the PRE community look amateurish. More players should display contempt over their presentation and offer constructive criticism when due. It is the only way to advance the legitimacy of PREs and promote participation in them.

Overall I think Hellz Angellz provides fun and challenging events. They just need to take it up a notch presentation wise.
